Last Thursday, a group of writers and friends met up at Waterstones to launch our new book Our City, courtesy of all the hard work our editor Suzanne Audrey put into it. It was a wonderful launch and got us quite excited about what this combination of energy could achieve.
Our main priority is to point a light at what goes on in Bristol in the shadows. As the excellent Joe Banks put it: much of what happens in Bristol’s planning, happens in the shadows. He wrote about the development of St Mary Le Port and how the council and money got what they wanted.
My story was about the arena. I’ve posted my speech on a previous post, and now I have a podcast about it as well. It’s a 10 minute audio clip, featuring a discussion being Nadia and Mark.
It’s really good. They make it sound interesting — and it is interesting — even though my text got a bit dense with references.
** Nadia and Mark are AI generated from NotebookML but even though I did the generating, I was still half-convinced they were real.
