Asher Craig to write memoir
Asher Craig aka Jennifer May Craig, the cabinet member for education at Bristol City Council has announced she’ll be publishing her memoirs later on this year. This comes after Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees, has admitted he has been paid for his (ghostwritten?) autobiography.
She announced the book on a Facebook post on 1 January 2024 paying tribute to her father. Stories of her father and “and many more” will be revealed in her memoirs. There’s no sign yet of whether she’s been paid to write this book. She hasn’t updated her register of interests since September 2021 despite the company of which she’s a director getting two contracts from Bristol City Council.
Another book to look out for for Bristol residents. Craig has announced she will be standing down in May 2024 as Bristol switches to a committee system. This should be giving her something to do. I hope there’s time to oversee education in Bristol as well.
